6 found dead at rural Washington home
CARNATION, Wash. – The bodies of six people, including two children, were found at a rural property east of Seattle, and investigators were looking for possible suspects, King County sheriff’s detectives said Wednesday.
The victims included a boy about age 3, a girl about 6, a man and a woman in their 30s and a man and a woman in their 50s, “most likely three generations” of one family, said sheriff’s Sgt. John Urquhart.
A Breaking News banner on MSNBC.com says that two suspects have been apprehended. That’s good news.
A bit weird is this:
Sheriff’s Detective Bob Conner said authorities were searching for possible suspects in the area, along with other possible victims, but insisted there was no danger to anyone else living nearby.
“I can assure you there’s no threat at this point to any neighbors living in this area,” he said. “You have to take my word for it.”
“Take my word for it”? That’s crazy.
To recap:
- 6 shot dead
- No one in custody (at the time)
- Authorities are looking for other possible victims
- Trust them–There’s no threat
If there’s “no threat,” why are they searching for “other possible victims”? Their statement is confusing, to say the least. And not terribly reassuring.
