Don't carry guns where not permitted - I know that NYC's laws are unconstitutional, but that isn't the way to fight it. 2. That Glock has a trigger safety - it doesn't go off unless there is a round in the chamber and he pulled the trigger - dummy. 2. It sounds like it wasn't a life-threatening wound and everyone around him was willing to help cover this dummy. So, why not a field dressing on the wound and quick ride back home to NJ? Call an ambulance from home or go to the local hospital claiming he shot himself at home. Shoot a hole in the floor if you have to. Duh. What a dummy.
