Something should be done about the IXth Amendment. Really, how can you tell what you are allowed to do without a list? Bork was right. You can read anything into that you want. It is where all the penumbras and emanations come from. Dangerous stuff. People just being allowed to do as they please. Why some people will have dirty dishes in their sink. Obviously no good can come of that.

OTOH gun rights are well established. Good thing that one is in writing.

"...a sensible interpretation of the amendment is that it was written to allow the people to raise a militia for protection and to hunt for food."

So we can raise militias to protect ourselves against a tyrannical government?

Without guns, just how are we supposed to raise a militias?

So Spaketh PFC Frost: "What are we supposed to use, man? Harsh language?"

Molon Labe, I guess...

Murdoc,

Actually, I am of the belief that these United States would be a safer place if we were to remove the restrictions on firearms and instead put onerous licensing, registration and education restrictions on professional journalists.

I wonder how the good Mr. Feinstein would feel if, in order to write his column, he was forces to accept the same restrictions upon the 1st Amendment as he advocates for the 2nd?

One thing's for certain. Feinstein has graduated from moron to maroon.
