Based on the rivets down the lower edge of the stock, that appears to be a MK1 lower. For a while Cav Arms was offering a trade in-option to upgrade MK1 lowers to the newer MK2s, but ever since Cav Arms got raided by the BATFE (for no stated reason, the bastiches), they have been unable to produce new MK2s, so they have probably stopped this program.

Don't know much about the MK1s, but the MK2s are about a pound lighter than an aluminum lower plus accouterments and seem to be quite tough.

Nice. How does the cost compare to the other AR-15 options?

I got one and I love it. Breaks down and cleans easy. Polymer stock is light and efficient. Sure...no customizations but slinging 223 lead downrange normally isnt a exercise in finesse. Plus after Obama outlaws them it will keep better buried in my backyard....LOL.

Not all of us are into barbie-doll rifles ... we just need a place to mount a scope, and we are done.
