Always have a Plan B

January 23rd, 2008

Darlington Borough, Pennsylvania:

According to police, two robbers entered a home, taking control of the homeowner’s rifle. At that point, police said, the homeowner pulled out a handgun, shooting one of the robbers.

The second robber fled the scene with the man’s rifle, police said.

There’s no info on how things went down, how the intruders got the rifle, or where the handgun came from. But it clearly illustrates that no plan survives contact with the enemy and that the ability to adapt quickly is a key to survival.

And I always like these sorts of headlines: Beaver Man Shoots Would-Be Robber During Home Invasion

Why not something along the lines of Man Breaks Into Beaver County Home and Gets Shot for His Trouble?
