Lenco Armored Truck
Over 16,000 pounds of heavy duty workhorse. Gas mileage sucks.

Firing ports and what looks like a turret ring? Ascension Parish had a population of just over 76,000 at the 2000 census…and that thing’s kitted out for duty in Northern Ireland.
I’ll bet that most of the heavily armed folks in that parish live back in the bayous anyway.
That thing is serious overkill. Just one more step in the militarization of the police.

That’s funny you should have that info. I was wondering where the hell Ascension was and what the hell was going on there.
DHS money…If you have everything you need and you have everything you want and you still have money left, buy an armored truck.

Well…Wikipedia is useful for that. Located outside of Baton Rouge, only 3 actual incorporated towns.
Those skirts are to keep bombs from being rolled underneath. What exactly are they expecting? The Free Acadian Front?

I’m from not too far away originally. Good luck getting that thing anywhere in Ascension that isn’t paved. Even more fun would be trying to get it back out. Our old SRT team (municipality within Tangipahoa Parish) made perfectly good with an old decomissioned Bunny Bread truck.
Makes one wonder…
