Give me that knife

January 27th, 2009

James Rummel:

It seems that the cops in the UK are looking at profiles in Facebook and other popular Internet sites. If they see a picture of someone posing with a knife, a picture taken in a public place, then they go arrest the miscreant.

My guess is that the idea of posing with a (gasp!) knife in a public place is only cool enough to put on your Facebook because it’s forbidden.

What if you photoshop a knife into a picture of you on the street in London?

If I lived in the UK I’d go around photoshoping knives in every damn picture I could find just to make them waste so much time that they eventually have to stop using Facebook to turn the country into a Orwellian police state.

If it is okay to own a knife in your home but not in public, how do you legally get a knife to your house? Are Brits hammering homemade knives out of iron?
