CCW on Campus: North Dakota

Concealed weapons on campus debated

North Dakota bars bringing permitted concealed weapons to public gatherings and places such as universities, but a measure introduced by Rep. Duane DeKrey, R-Pettibone, would change that. The bill would still prohibit concealed weapons on K-12 campuses.

This is an ongoing effort across the nation, but there has been little headway so far.

  • Murdoc…

We saw the same movement born and die in the last session of the Louisiana legislature. But it got a lot of traction, and the contingent that introduced it said they will bring it back. There was the expected wailing and gnashing of teeth by the milquetoast educators, coaches, and general sheeple–but a lot of wiser heads saw the reason behind this, and the fact that the concealed carry permit holders in this nation are, as a group, far more law-abiding than the general population. So I think as long as we keep bringing it up, and using states such as Utah, where it is now legal to carry on campus, as examples, in the end we will prevail–and save lives doing so–of that, I am utterly convinced.
