I’ve had a number of folks ask about this. It’s not in production yet, but scheduled to start in March. The rail will be standard and includes an integrated Ghost Ring.
I shot one of these last fall, and I gotta say I really liked it. Maybe the rail makes it seem tactical or something.

The rail makes it “tactical” in a tongue-in-cheek way, but it also makes it infinitely easier to mount and swap optics.
How many optics do you need for a .45-70? That is a whole other discussion.

Just looked at one these at J & S Guns Lakeville, Mn. Sweet!! Have an old Marlin 336c in .32 Win Spec. that I still use every fall.Shoots like a dream. I am considering one of the new 45-70′s though.

the rail does make it easier to attach optics but for me lessens the aesthetic value on what looks to be like a very attractive firearm.
