This happened to me at the Jacksonville, FL, airport. TSA guy asked why I had a loaded magazine in my carry-on bag. I said, “Becaue I’m an idiot?” He was pretty cool. He told me it happens quite a bit, and that how they react depends on how the traveler responds to the “why do you have this in your bag” question. He let me keep my magazine, but he kept the 17 rounds of 9MM ammo. A few weeks later I got a letter in the mail about the incident. My wife gets the mail every day. She gave me that look.
