‘Barely a blip’
Via Sebastian: TV cameras miss how guns save lives
Of course, corpses are newsworthy in our sensational culture, but when an armed citizen stops an attack, the heroism rates barely a blip on the national radar screen.
Well, for one thing, if people realized how often guns were used defensively, a lot of the anti-gun message would go down the toilet.

Sgt. Kimberly Munley is a perfect example of this. She is the brave police woman who shot and stopped the Ft Hood shooter. I have been waiting and watching for her to be decorated and celebrated for her bravery and dedication to duty in defending our soldiers, at the cost of being wounded herself. not a peep, no beer summit, no dinner with the governor, nothing.
I know that the intent of the post was civilian use of CCW for defensive purposes, but when the Police succeed in a high profile case like this and get squat for coverage of it, I don’t expect that there will be much coverage when a civilian does the same.
