This is classic projection on the part of the antis. I read a thread on another forum the other day, in which this colossal tool (had a sentence in his profile saying all gun owners should kill themselves) made his case that no one should have guns, and anyone that that did was weak, mentally and morally. He then pointed to the time that he did hold and shoot a gun, and the "troubling" sense of power it gave him.

Hello douche bag. We are not all uncontrolled psycho-at-heart idiots like you. Obviously you should not own a gun. I would endorse that. Please don't use your vote to make that decision for the rest of the rational, non-idiot people in America.

Thanks.

Your friend,

this is exactly why i didnt own a gun in my 20s. i was hot-headed and had a temper that could (and did) flare out of control... more than once i said "i dont own a gun because i dont want to kill anyone, and i wouldnt make it a week without shooting someone dead if i did" when the topic of gun ownership came up in conversation...

i have since mellowed considerably (ie: grew the hell up), and no longer fear ever discharging a weapon in anger... but just because *i* couldnt be a responsible gun owner in my youth is no reason to say *no one* can be a responsible gun owner. although ill admit, it is unfortunate that people who arent honest enough with themselves to recognize that they have no business owning a gun go and do stupid stuff that casts a pall over everyone else...

"I think only police, FBI, CIA, and whoever has to deal with secret documents or big amount of money, should be armed, and no body else"

Yeah well, that's your problem right there. And that's why this guy and I will always talk past each other.

I've spent approximately 8 years in Germany. On the one hand, it is far far safer than the United States. There is very little violent crime in contrast to where I grew up in GA and where I live now (VA/DC). However, I believe it is false to attribute that to gun ownership. There have been mass shootings there too even where it's damn near impossible to get your hands on a gun. There are many reasons for the difference, one of which is culture and another poverty. Germans, and most other Europeans for that matter (save Switzerland and Finland) do not put the same value on self-defense and independence that Americans do, due to the very different origins of our countries.

THe best comparison is the UK, whose culture would be closest of all European countries to us. And we all know how well gun laws there have worked out.
